Honest-1 Auto Care is true to its name. They are honest, decent, and caring. I went into the car shop recently and asked them to replace a headlight since it wasn't working anymore. They said they could but after they examined the headlight closer they saw that the wires just needed to be fixed. Because of their honesty with the headlight, they saved me $30+ dollars! I had recently bought a new car and they gladly put on the new licenses plates for me with no extra cost. This is the car shop I will always go-to for any car repairs and oil change.

Shoot. I really wanted to love this place. Speedy, efficient, friendly, but wrong diagnosis. Those first three are huge customer-service plusses, but they are overshadowed if my problem isn't fixed when I leave. I've had two of my cars serviced here a total of three times. Once was an oil pan replacement and they did a great job. I was very pleased. Once was for a Mazda that didn't start consistently. That was diagnosed as a starter issue. Starter replacement ($530) did not fix it. It was re-diagnosed as a neutral safety switch issue, and switch replacement did fix the problem. Again, happy with the final outcome, but the starter replacement was unnecessary. The starter they removed was less than a year old and considering the eventual fix, was obviously not the offender. The most recent visit was also for an intermittent start issue with a Hyundai. This time, the battery was diagnosed ($260). Replacement did not fix the issue and I felt like maybe there was a miscommunication because I thought my description adequately indicated that it was unlikely the battery was at fault. But they know a heck of a lot more than I do, so I trusted the diagnosis. In total, I have spent $1,900 at Honest-1, $800 of which went to repairs that did not fix the issue. The starter cost was a complete loss. The battery, at least, is a general maintenance cost. Although I'm grumpy about purchasing a new battery, which did not solve the immediate issue, I am ultimately ok with that charge. Guesswork is understandable sometimes, especially with tricky intermittent problems. But I can't afford to keep putting money toward repairs that may or may not fix the problem. I don't mean that glibly -- I literally can't afford it.

Second time at a second location and both times, had wonderful service. Great at pointing out and helping me understand what exactly is wrong. Even took extra free steps by cleaning parts of the motor that likely saved my car in the end. Would also like to point out, my grandma has been coming to this business for years and has never had any trouble.
